Milk box uses easy open and carrying features
Opportunity
A major milk producer wanted an easy-to-handle package for consumers, but was also concerned that it be cost effective. The packaging also needed to meet the shelf ready requirements from the retailer. The existing pack was a shrink-wrapped tray with a plastic adhesive handle that required an extra application process.
Solution
A new box design was developed using an Adalis reinforced carry handle and an Adalis opening feature. The reinforcement and opening features were incorporated online at the corrugator during the manufacturing process, eliminating the extra step needed for
the plastic handle.
Results
The new pack was not only easier to open and carry for the consumers, but it used less packaging material. The retailer was satisfied with the shelf ready feature as well as the reduced packaging waste (less disposal tax). The brand owner not only incurred less product damage in transit but also received improved shelf presentation and enhanced brand image.
